Listening to Marty Brennaman

If you haven't checked out Marty's Commemorative CD yet, I would highly recommend it. Produced by Pat Hughes, play-by-play broadcaster for the Cubs, the CD brings back the past of how Marty started as a broadcaster and how he evolved into one of the greatest. I've been listening to Marty & Joe since I was six years old and there are things on the CD I've never known before.

I never realized Marty started his career broadcasting for the Reds in 1974 and within 3 years the team won 2 World Championships! In the CD, he tells how young he was at the time, and how he never realized how lucky he was until the years went by being able to broadcast for the Big Red Machine.

Marty also broadcasted arguably the "Best College Game Ever", when Duke defeated Kentucky in Philadephia. And includes memorable broadcasts clips of Marty such as Henry Aaron #714, Tom Seaver's no-hitter, Tom Browning's perfect game, Pete Rose #4192, and much more!

I've already listened to the CD about 3 times. Pat Hughes did a great job with this CD and I highly recommend it to you Cincinnati Reds fans. If you're looking for the CD, you can purchase it on NorthernKentuckySports.com.

Tubby Leaves UK!

About 12 NOON yesterday I get a call from my Dad, who's down in Lexington for the Sweet 16 tournament. He goes on to tell me that him and his buddies are hearing that Tubby is leaving UK for Michigan. They ran into some of the players down there who were on there way to an urgent meeting. At first, I was skeptical to how true this really was. I searched ESPN and other local news sites to see if this was public yet. Still not.

I told some friends at work, called some friends, etc. Then around 3:30 it's posted on ESPN by Andy Katz. My dad was right about Tubby leaving but not right about leaving for Michigan, he left for Minnesota.

Funny, how the news travels so fast! And suppossedly, Billy Donovan just bought a house in Lexington last month and the Florida program may be investigated for players taking cash payments. Rumors of course, but wonder if these are true as well!?
